Welcome to our Poetry Society – a warm and inclusive community where everyone can explore the art of poetry together!

Whether you're a seasoned poet or just curious about verse, we're here to help you develop confidence in your creative voice within a supportive, welcoming environment. Through our regular sessions, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen your speaking, communication and articulation skills, while also honing your creative writing abilities and learning to craft compelling arguments through consistent practice.

Our society is made up of members with diverse interests and backgrounds, and we celebrate that diversity both in and out of our poetry discussions. We host a range of social events to suit everyone – from lively drinking and party nights for those who enjoy a spirited gathering, to quieter, more wholesome activities for members who prefer alcohol-free fun or a calmer atmosphere.

In our meetings, we love discussing poetry from both celebrated established writers and our own talented members. There's absolutely no pressure to perform or share your work if you'd rather not – we're all about creating a space where everyone feels comfortable participating in whatever way suits them best. We also enjoy picking apart and analysing poems from different eras, diving deep into meaning, technique and context through engaging conversation.
