Our Information and Advice Service (IAS) offers students free, impartial advice and guidance on everything from academic matters to wellbeing.

 

As an IAS Volunteer, you'll help IAS to plan and run campaigns on issues affecting your fellow students and highlight the support available to them.

We also operate a Peer Support Scheme and are looking for volunteers who wish to support fellow students who have experienced discrimination, harassment, bullying, or hate crimes. Learn more on our Peer Support webpage.

Volunteer role descriptions

Information and Advice Service Volunteers plan and run campaigns to raise awareness amongst their peers of the issues affecting students and how to avoid them.

Peer Support Volunteers* offer peer support to NTU students who have faced discrimination.

Duties and responsibilities

• Help the Information and Advice Service (IAS) to engage NTU students and increase awareness of core services

• Support IAS and NTSU in delivering awareness campaigns

• Help deliver student facing workshops

• Offer Peer Support*

Training and support

You will need to attend an initial training session run by the IAS team and a refresher session annually. Additionally, you’ll have opportunities to attend external training/networking events.

 

Time commitment

No set requirement, but committed volunteers can obtain a Leadership Award, further enhancing your employability.

 

Qualifications required

No prior experience or qualifications are required for this post.
