What is Club of the Week?

Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.

Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.

This week’s winners:

On-pitch winner: FENCING

What the club achieved:

The women’s team have remained unbeaten all season and, after winning the BUCS league, are now in the Conference Cup final having beat DMU 135-46. The men’s team had their closest match of the season but still managed to win against Warwick 125-124.
It’s the first time either of the team have won their leagues and reached the Conference Cup finals – what an achievement!

Off-pitch winner: BURLESQUE

What the club achieved:

Last Saturday the club had their second show of the year, This Burl Can, in honour of International Women's Day. Despite losing access to the stage on the day they managed to pull the show together and draw in an audience of over 230 people!
Everyone in the club has worked extremely hard over the past two months, over 60 of our members took part whether performing, hosting, or helping out backstage and the feedback has been extremely positive.
