We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for passionate and visionary students to join our Board of Trustees. This position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in steering the direction of NTSU, ensuring that it continues to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our diverse student body.

The Role: Student Trustee

As a student trustee, you will bring invaluable insight and perspective to the board, representing the views and interests of the student population, whilst learning what it takes to run a multimillion pound charity. This role is critical in shaping the strategic direction and policies of NTSU, guiding the organisation towards its goals while ensuring the needs of our members remains at the forefront of our decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in board meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and decision making processes
  • Act as a liaison between the student body and the board, ensuring that students’ opinions and needs are accurately represented
  • Work collaboratively with fellow trustees and NTSU staff to develop and implement initiatives that enhance student life
  • Oversee the governance and financial health of NTSU, ensuring the organisation resources are managed effectively and ethically

This position is ideal for a Nottingham Trent University student who is

  • Committed to the mission, vision and values of NTSU
  • A strong communicator, capable of articulating the view and concerns of peers
  • Interested in governance, leadership and strategic development of a charity
  • Able to commit to the role for the duration of their tenure

 

No prior experience is necessary, as training and support will be provided. That matters most is your passion for improving the student experience and your desire to contribute to the ongoing success of NTSU.

  • Interviews: Wednesday 22nd May 2024
  • NTSU Trustee Board Meeting: Tuesday 18th June 2024 (as an observer)
  • Trustee Board Training: Tuesday 25th June or Wednesday 26th June (9am – 5pm)
