NTSU launches zero-tolerance sexual violence policy

Monday 28-10-2019 - 00:00

As part of NTSU’s ongoing commitment to tackling hate crime on campus, we’ve launched a Zero Tolerance to Sexual Violence Policy.

Created in collaboration with students and staff members across the Students’ Union and University, the policy states that all allegations will be taken seriously, survivors will be supported and NTSU will act efficiently and fairly when responding to any incidents.

You can read the full policy here

It’s just one of the things the Students’ Union is doing to tackle sexual violence and other hate crimes on campus. I’ve been training staff members at NTU on sexual violence disclosure, we’ve created a guide for students to support victims they might know, and we’re also in the process of training Consent Facilitators to help make NTU campuses a safer place.

For more information on the support available for victims of sexual violence and other hate crimes, see our Respect and Consent web page.
