Description

The Mature*ish Students Society is a welcoming and informal community for students who don't quite fit the traditional 18-year-old undergraduate mould. While technically geared toward "mature" students—typically those between 21-30 at the start of their degree—the group embraces an ish approach. That means anyone who relates to being a bit older, more independent, or coming to university from a less conventional path is welcome. Whether you're returning to education after years away, balancing studies with work or parenting, or just feel out of sync with mainstream student life, you’ll find a place here.

The society aims to provide a supportive space for like-minded individuals to connect, share experiences, and make the most of university life. Activities include casual socials, peer support meetups,to ensure mature voices are heard within the university. While we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we do take community seriously—creating an environment where life experience is valued, and nobody feels out of place for being a little different.

In short, the Mature Students Society is a low-pressure, high-solidarity group for the students who didn’t come straight from sixth form—and wouldn't have it any other way.
