Hello! We are the NTU Neurodivergent Society (Neurosoc)!
We provide a space for neurodivergent students to meet, socialise, take part in events, and share our experiences as neurodivergent people.
You do not need to be diagnosed to join, and we accept those who are self diagnosed. We also do not hold any interviews or assessments, as we aim to provide support and community without the barriers commonly faced by students when accessing more formal support.
We also aim to hold the university and the SU accountable for neurodiverse issues, as well as provide advocacy for neurodivergent students in various contexts.
Being neurodivergent is something we have from birth, and something we will carry for the rest of our lives, so we say it's better to celebrate who we are.
We run events regularly online and in-person at all Nottingham-based campuses. Online, we play interactive online games such as Among Us, host film nights and general hangouts. In-person, we host a range of events from film nights, infodumping PowerPoints, picnics, and many more.
We also operate an online community via Discord, which is completely open access: no membership required. Here, we host our online events and provide the events schedule for the full Term, provide 1-to-1 support, and facilitate interaction with the community. All the info you will ever need to interact with the society, is available first and foremost via the Discord.
Please do join the Discord server for regular updates, the events schedule, and to join the community, (https://discord.gg/c78NDRfRmy, click while not on uni wifi or it won't work), follow our Instagram (@ntu_neurosoc) and click "Join This Group" on this page to purchase a membership for the society for £4 for the year, to recieve access to our events.
See you all soon!
