Who are The Fossil Society (Fossoc)?

Fossoc is a newly formed society as of March 2025, at Brackenhurst Campus. Our aim is to promote enthusiasm for our natural past in a university that teaches about our natural present. We would like bring like-minded people together to share information and physical specimens, which will enrich our current educational curriculums with opportunities to learn and explore our local evolutionary history.

What do we plan to do?

Fossoc is aimed at gathering skills within the field by finding and identifying fossil specimins in known areas, to go on educational trips to enrich our knowledge further by going to places such as natural history musuems, and having meet ups to share information that could potentially be of use to members looking to go on future trips, with the occasional guest talks that could enlighten our knowledge further on the world of palaeontology and have the ability to ask questions.
