In these challenging times, the wellbeing of our members is our top priority.

We are closely monitoring the situation with COVID19, which has required us to make some changes to our operations for the remainder of this academic year. These include:

Elections

We have postponed our main elections for our Officer Team until term 3. Voting was originally scheduled to open on Friday 20th March. It will now take place on this website between 9am Monday 27th and 5pm Wednesday 29th April. All NTU students will be emailed a voting link on Monday 27th.

Voting in our Sports Committee By-Elections will still take place as scheduled. Sports club members can vote for their remaining committee members from 12pm Monday 20th until 12pm Tuesday 23rd April. See our Elections page for more information.

Voting in our Society Committee By-Elections will still take place as scheduled. Society club members can vote for their remaining committee members from 8pm Friday 24th April until 5pm Friday 1st May. See our Elections page for more information.

Varsity

The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, in conjunction with their Students' Unions, have reluctantly agreed to cancel the 2020 Varsity Series.

The evolving guidance in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak has meant that a suspension or postponement of the series was not an option.

We understand participants and spectators will be disappointed. Circumstances permitting, the series will return in the next academic year (2020-2021).

Refunds on tickets purchased will be issued by our ticketing partner, FIXR, who will be issuing refunds in line with their existing terms and conditions. Cash refunds will not be offered. Specific enquiries should be directed to varsity@su.ntu.ac.uk

Events

All of our events are cancelled until further notice. This includes evening and daytime events in our buildings, daytrips and society events. Our box office is now closed. For enquiries regarding specific events, please contact boxoffice@su.ntu.ac.uk

Societies

In-person society activities are cancelled until further notice. Sports and Society Committee elections will still go ahead as planned. Some societies may run online activities, which you can find out about in our Coronavirus Facebook Community. Society members should email specific enquiries to opportunities@su.ntu.ac.uk

NTSU

All Students’ Union buildings on campus are now closed, but we will continue to support you during this difficult time. Most of our services can still be accessed through our website including our Information and Advice Service. If you need advice or support with anything, you can arrange telephone appointments with our advisors through our website.

If you would like advice on accommodation and your rights as a tenant, please see our COVID-19 housing guidance page.

See this article for a round-up of ways we are supporting students during remote learning.

Other services

NTU begin online learning from Monday 23rd March. For more information on this and the support available through the University, please see their website.

NCT have temporarily suspended the No. 4 bus services between City and Clifton. Students who would normally use this service should use the No. 1 service instead.

We appreciate that this is a difficult time for everybody. Our officers and staff are working from home, and we will be finding new ways to support you online in the coming weeks. Make sure you are following us on social media, join our Coronavirus Facebook Community and continue to check your email so you don’t miss our information and activities designed to help you through the current situation.
