Hi, I'm Anna.

I'm your Students’ Union president. I act as the line manager for the other executive officers as well as being the lead contact for the university and other 3rd parties. I am responsible for the governance of the union and chair a number of its committees.

What I'm working on:

- Facilitated Freshers week alongside the Officer team

- Trained the Fresher Rep Team in key areas like respect and Consent, student safety, EDI, First-aid awareness and leadership training.

- Attended a Climate Fresk Workshop, to enhance my understanding of the climate crisis; it’s causes, consequences, and global solutions.

- Attended a Mental Health Awareness training.

- Attended a Student Governor Training programme in London.

- Was a panel member alongside NTU Colleagues for an NTU Senior Communcations Manager

- Met with the Department for Education to discuss student facing issues.

- Collaborated with NTU to research and write a paper and presentation on Student Voice.

- Began reviewing the DPD to ensure the Union is run effectively.

- Attended a Nottingham Citizens Meeting to see what is currently happening in Nottingham and Discuss How we can engage local MPs to help students.

- Co-hosted NTU talks, with Whitney Adebayo, discussing Uni Life, starting your own business, looking after mental health and wellbeing and some Love Island Gossip.

- Hosted Her Royal Highness, Princess of Wales around Clifton Campus, discussed mental health and what the university are doing to support students with their mental health and wellbeing.

 

- Work with support services and the officer team to ensure more support is given to fresher reps during and after freshers week and more specific training is given.

- Reviewing and improving the Emergency Taxi scheme to ensure consistency through the company, highlighting safety is key.

- Lobby to increase the hardship fund, including international and postgraduate funding

- Continuing to lobby for support for students from the council during the Cost-of-Living Crisis

- Lobbying for fair and reasonable accommodation prices.

- Lobbying local MPs to push for greater financial support and maintenance loans

- Continue to advocate and work with VP Community and welfare to reduce the stigma surrounding Mental Health

- Ensuring diversity of events so all students are catered to.

- Full transparency of the officer team, encouraging consistent updates on different communication platforms and

- Began reviewing the DPD to ensure the Union is run effectively.

- Writing the Student submission for the Mental Health Charter

- Increase support for mental health services across NTSU and NTU by ensuring that mental Health Charter us fully implemented

- Continuing to work alongside our UoN counterparts to share best practice and lobby local councils to support students with issue they are facing.

- Continuing to ensure a better community between campuses

- Review and improve on-campus university medical services

- Work with VP postgraduate and the doctoral school to implement support services for doctoral candidates.

- Work with affiliate nightclub vendors to ensure student safety is a key feature throughout the city.

- Work with NET and NTU to look into late night tram travel, ensuring safety is the biggest focus.

- Collaborate with NTU, NCTX and NET to look into better subsidised travel between campuses.

- Work with VP sport and VP Opportunities to look into better travel options for students in sports clubs and societies, ensuring each student has a fair and equal opportunity to be part of any club/society they wish.
