What I'm working on:

  • NUS Lead and Change: met other officers from across the country, understanding how to support students across cost-of-living and educational inhibitions such as the aftermath of COVID-19
  • Mansfield matriculation: supported on the welcome at our Mansfield campus, hosting the first 'Breakfast with the Exec' to promote additional feedback routes from students
  • NTSU Guide to University: created to ensure that students understand what is available to them at both NTU and NTSU in one easy-to-read, accessible signposting guide
  • Freshers' Week 2023: Worked alongside the rest of the Exec Team and over 230 Freshers' Reps to ensure the safest welcome to new students in the city and the university
  • Apprenticeship Network: Actioned this 'Big Idea', taking the lead and supporting the recruitment of members, and inclusion of apprentices from various apprenticeship routes
  • Interview and appointments: supported NTU with the new Campus Policing team and hired a new IAS advisor at NTSU
  • School Officers: interviewed the remaining undergraduate school officer applicants and delivered training for the 2023/24 academic year
  • Course Representatives: trained 550+ course representatives across 9 training sessions, with online sessions available for students on non-traditional routes of education, such as apprentices, to ensure these students are able to utilise their voice
  • Rep Development Programme: introduced and developed for our academic representatives to enhance their extracurricular opportunities and professional progression through exclusive events and workshops
  • Rep Development Programme: this is due to be 'in progress' throughout the year as there will be multiple events that the academic representatives ask for, but my main focus will be on networking events for school officers and course representatives
  • Student Support: ensuring that student support is maintained throughout the university, with a focus on bereavement support and opportunity for counselling for students
  • Visibility: ensuring that course representatives are visible and accessible to students, working with the academic schools to promote their representatives
  • Apprentices: providing events for students in their block on-campus timetable, and providing networking opportunities
  • Reviewing support services: ensuring that the discrepancies between support by school and by campus is resolved, ensuring students and staff alike know the support available
  • External placement opportunities: liaising with each school placement team to ensure that the students are getting the support for placements they seek themselves and ensuring that students know how to approach this
